The auction for the Women’s Premier League was held in Mumbai on Monday. 5 teams bought a total of 87 players. This includes 30 foreigners. Rs 59.5 crore was spent on these. Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, was the most expensive player in the league. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 3.40 crore. Two pairs of husband and wife also participated in this auction. Actually, there were 4 women players in the auction who have married each other. One pair of female cricketers who became husband and wife was from England and the other from South Africa. Out of these, one pair found buyers in the auction. But, the dreams of the other pair remained unfulfilled.
