The team defeated Hong Kong by 9 wickets in their first match. 20-year-old off-spinner Shreyanka Patil performed well in the match. He took 5 wickets for 2 runs in 3 overs. The Hong Kong team was all out after scoring 34 runs in 14 overs in the T20 tournament. 10 players from the team could not touch the double figures.
