3 players proved to be the biggest villains of Delhi Capitals defeat, fans will not be able to forgive. Hindi News

Sharjah: Under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, Delhi’s team remained table top in the league by winning 10 out of 14 matches, but there are mostly young players in the team, who do not have experience of playing in big matches. Now in the qualifiers, Delhi’s team has suffered a heart-breaking three-wicket defeat at the hands of Kolkata, which forced them out of the race for the final after two consecutive defeats. Earlier, Delhi had to face defeat by four wickets to Chennai.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is a young captain, he does not have experience of captaincy in big matches, due to which Delhi had to face defeat. Giving the last over to a spinner against Kolkata was a big mistake. Rabada or Anrich could have been bowled in place of Ashwin in the last over. Rishabh Pant made a mistake in taking this big decision. Had Rabada bowled in the last over, the result of the match would have been different. Rishabh Pant could not change the bowling properly. Even against Chennai, giving Tom Curran the last over proved to be his big mistake, in which Dhoni finished the match in his own style. Rishabh could not do much in batting too. He could not perform according to his name and he could not handle the pressure of big matches.

Shikhar Dhawan

Delhi expected Shikhar Dhawan to bat stormy against Kolkata, but he made Khoda Pahar Nikle Chuhiya. Dhawan scored only 36 runs in 39 balls. He batted very slowly. The ball was barely crossing the boundary line with his bat. He got caught on the ball of spinner Varun in the process of making quick runs in the last and returned to the pavilion by giving a simple catch to Shakib Al Hasan and left Delhi’s Nayya in the middle.

Akshar Patel

More recently, Akshar Patel was dropped from the 15-man squad of the Indian team, in his place Shardul Thakur was included in the team. Looking at his recent performance. This decision appears to be correct. His balls were heavily smashed against Kolkata. Venkatesh Iyer hit many sixes on him. He proved to be a very expensive bowler. He gave 32 runs in 4 overs and did not take any wicket. His balls were scored freely by the Kolkata batsmen. Axar could not contribute much in batting also. Could score only 4 runs in 4 balls. Neither his ball turned nor did the bat move. Due to which Delhi had to face defeat.
