New Delhi. Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen on Tuesday moved up two places to reach a career-best sixth position in the latest BWF world rankings. French Open champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also climbed a rung to return to their career-best seventh ranking in men’s doubles.
The Indian pair won two BWF World titles – India Open Super 500 and French Open Super 750. He won the gold medal in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and won the bronze medal for the first time in the World Championships. He also played a key role in India’s Thomas Cup victory.

The women’s doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand and the mixed doubles pair of Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Christo have also moved up to career-best rankings of 23rd and 28th respectively. Treesa and Gayatri jumped five places while Tanisha and Ishaan jumped two places.
PV Sindhu, who won two medals in the Olympics, has also moved up a notch to the fifth position. He has not participated in any tournament after the Birmingham Games due to an ankle injury. Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy remained static at 11th and 12th positions respectively in the men’s singles rankings.
