England team has come on Pakistan tour after 17 years to play test series
A member of the English team that came here in 2005 has also come this time.
rawalpindi, Fast bowler James Anderson, the only member of the current team to have played in England’s last tour of Pakistan 17 years ago, is excited about playing in this country once again. Anderson has worked hard on his fitness in the last five to six years and at the age of 40, he is still leading the England bowling attack. He made his Test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe at Lord’s.
Anderson said, ‘I am lucky that I am fit. I feel lucky to still be a part of the team, extremely lucky to be back in Pakistan after such a long time. We got a wonderful welcome here. All the players are excited to be back here, the players who were not here 17 years ago also know how big this tour is in terms of world cricket.
The fast bowler did not play in a single match of the three-Test series on the 2005 tour, which Pakistan won 2–0.
Anderson admitted that he does not know much about the pitch even after two practice sessions at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. In the last 3 years in Rawalpindi, Pakistan has defeated Bangladesh and South Africa in Tests while it has played draws against Sri Lanka and Australia. Anderson said that I am not very good at sensing the mood of the pitch. One thing we have noticed is that when we came here in the morning for practice, there was slight dew at that time. There can be a little moisture in the wicket in the beginning. I am also looking forward to it.
