WTC Final: ‘India can win in any condition’, former England captain gave ‘formula’ of victory

New Delhi. India and Australia (India vs Australia) are busy finalizing their preparations and strategy before the final of the World Test Championship to be held from 7 June. The match will be played at the Oval ground in London and its result will decide which team wins the WTC Final trophy. Since the match is on England’s swing / fast bowling helpful wicket, most of the cricket experts are considering Australia as the contender for victory. But former England captain Nasser Hussain has said that if the Indian team learns from its past mistakes, it can win this time. Indian team had to face defeat in WTC Final-2021 2 years ago.

India-born Nasir Hussain said that if India takes bold decisions before the match, then the team can win the WTC Final. He said in the ICC Review, ‘I believe that India has shown in Australia that they can win in any kind of condition. If the weather is good at the Oval and the sun shines, then they can adopt the formula of Shardul Thakur as 2 spinners, 2 seamers and the third seamer. It will also be helpful in terms of the balance of the team.

India ‘misread’ the situation then
Nasir said- If you look at the last World Test Championship, I think India had read the situation wrong. Here the lights had to be turned on for all five days and the weather was extremely cold. New Zealand did not even play its front line spinner in the 2021 final, while India landed with 2 spinners. In this match, seam and swing had established dominance and India had to face an 8-wicket defeat. He said that India has played some good cricket at the Oval. The team had defeated England in a spectacular match here last time.
