New Delhi. Pakistan’s young player Mohammad Haris is currently identified as a short format player. Is. However, Haris does not want to be identified only as a ‘white ball player’. He wants to play for the country’s team in all three formats of cricket and is also learning to bat with patience while at the crease.

Haris said in a special conversation with Geo News, ‘I need to have more patience as a batter and I am working hard on it.’ He said, ‘I can hit fours and sixes but I have to include singles and doubles in my game as well, for this I am trying to improve my ground shot.’

Expressing his desire to play in all three formats of cricket, he gave the example of India’s Rishabh Pant and Australia’s Adam Gilchrist. He said, ‘I don’t want to be just a batter of T20 format. I want to play for Pakistan in all the three formats. Just because I bat fast doesn’t mean my game ‘suits’ only for T20. Players like Rishabh Pant and Gilchrist have achieved success in all formats of the game by batting at this pace.

‘I have learned a lot from Rizwan’

Regarding competition from Rizwan in the Pakistan team as a wicketkeeper, 22-year-old Haris said, ‘Without any doubt, Rizwan is the first choice wicketkeeper of the Pakistan team. There is always a tough competition for a place in the team as a wicketkeeper, so I am also trying to become a better fielder so that I can make a place in the team as a pure batsman. I have learned a lot from Rizwan, when I don’t perform well, he is usually the first person to support me. When we played with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he also gave me many opportunities to play. Haris has scored 126 runs in 9 T20Is at an average of 14 and a strike rate of 127. He has only 27 runs in four innings of 5 ODIs.
