After this Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi took the review. TV replays showed that the ball took the edge of the bat and went to the wicketkeeper. After this the field umpire had to change the decision and Zakir’s innings came to an end. He was able to score 1 run.

Nijat Masood is the 22nd bowler to take a wicket on the first ball of his Test career. TP Horan is the first bowler in the world to do this feat. He did this in the Sydney Test in 1882-83. A bowler from India has also done this. The name of this bowler is Nilesh Kulkarni. Nilesh made his debut in the Colombo Test in 1997 and dismissed Sri Lankan batsman Marvan Atapattu on his first ball.
