The visiting team has won the toss and decided to bat first

new Delhi. The second Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand started in Karachi from Monday (January 2). Pakistan has made 2 changes in the team. Naseem Shah and Hasan Ali have been included in the playing XI in place of Mohammad Wasim and Noman Ali. Hasan Ali has returned to the Test team after a long time.

Fast bowler Hasan Ali played his last Test match against Sri Lanka in July 2022. Since then, he was continuously running out of the team. Hasan has played 21 Test matches so far, in which he took 77 wickets. Stormy pacer Naseem Shah has also returned to the team. After the first Test match against England, he was ruled out of the series due to injury. The effect of Shahid Afridi becoming the chief selector is visible on the Pakistan team. As soon as Afridi took over the chair, he changed the pre-determined team for the Test series against New Zealand. He included fast bowler Mir Hamza, Shahnawaz Dahani and off-spinner Sajid Khan in the team. Mir Hamza also got a chance to play in the first Test match against New Zealand. On Afridi’s initiative, former captain and wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed returned to the Test team after 4 years. He was included in the playing XI in place of Mohammad Rizwan. Sarfaraz played innings of 86 and 53 runs in the first test match against the Kiwis.
