Maxwell roared after becoming the savior of RCB’s victory
Said- I like to bat on the fourth order
New Delhi. After playing a match-winning 77 off 44 balls against Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) attacking batsman Glenn Maxwell said that he should be the fourth-order batsman for this Indian Premier League (IPL) team and Australia. But likes to bat. Apart from hitting six fours and four sixes in his innings, Maxwell laid the foundation for the victory by sharing a 127-run partnership for the third wicket with Faf du Plessis (62 runs in 39 balls). In response to RCB’s 189 for nine wickets, the Rajasthan team could only manage 182 runs for six wickets.
Maxwell said at the award ceremony after the match, “This is the order (fourth position) where I have no problem batting.” I have batted down the order for Australia as well after falling early wickets. They (RCB) have given me the freedom to go out on the field and bat as per my wish.

He said, “I came here with good form. The team has shown faith in me, which makes a difference. The new ball was coming a little slow, so we focused on scoring runs quickly. I think the way we finished the powerplay, it set the stage for a big score. However, in the last over, we lost wickets quickly.
Apart from Maxwell and du Plessis, RCB’s acting captain Virat Kohli also praised fast bowlers Mohammad Siraj and Harshal Patel. He said, “At the time of the toss, we were also thinking whether to bat first or not because the pitch was dry. But we knew it would be difficult to bat later in the last 10 overs under floodlights.
He said, “Maxwell and du Plessis batted well. We thought that 160 runs would be enough on this pitch, but they took the team closer to 190.
