Ajit Agarkar claims Mayank Agarwal has technical faults he will get more exposed in overseas conditions – Latest Cricket News

Former India pacer and current cricket expert Ajit Agarkar has criticized opener Mayank Agarwal’s overseas form and said that he missed the opportunity to do well in the ongoing Test series against South Africa. Mayank averages 83.90 in home Tests, with 839 runs in 7 matches, while the situation is not the same in overseas conditions. In 12 Tests played outside home, Mayank has scored just 590 runs at an average of 25.65.

The surprising thing is that Mayank Agarwal has scored only one half-century in the last 14 innings he has played abroad. Even Mayank started the tour of South Africa with 60 runs, but he has been able to score only 135 runs in 6 innings. However, Ajit Agarkar admitted that it is difficult to deal with Kagiso Rabada when he is in good form, but Mayank has some technical snags.

Rabada- Agarkar in rhythm

Cricketer-turned-commentator Ajit Agarkar said, “He has missed an opportunity to score runs because he had a good start in the Test series against South Africa. However, when Rabada was in such good rhythm, the way he was bowling, It’s not easy, but he (Mayank) has technical flaws. He gets out the same way and he will be exposed more in foreign conditions.”

Agarkar also talked about Mayank’s dismissal in the second innings of the series decider. He said, “He could have played this ball (the wicket-faller) late because it was close to the off-stump on a good length, went a little far after pitching and also bounced. Mayank Agarwal even in overseas conditions. Haven’t played much as he is the third or fourth opener.”
