Australia women’s team wicketkeeper-batsman Alyssa Healy has welcomed the BCCI and PCB’s plan to start a Women’s T20 league. BCCI will start Women’s IPL (WIPL) from 2023 and PCB Women’s PSL (WPSL) in near future. However, the introduction of these domestic leagues will make it difficult to incorporate them into the women’s international calendar.
After Alyssa Healy scored a century in the semi-finals of the Women’s World Cup 2022, she said, “The announcements from those competitions (WIPL and WPSL) are great. This is exactly where we thought the women’s game would take off.” needed. That was like the next step.”
He added, “We have a really successful WBBL and the Super League has been played really well. Now The Hundred has also had success and there are many domestic competitions (around the world), so watch the IPL announcement. For, especially, the move to develop the game in India is incredible.”
Healy has also said that women’s cricket is developing in India and this team is going to be a team which will be difficult to beat in the next 10 years. Healy also says that national teams benefit from domestic cricket tournaments. Healy says, “I can’t say 100 percent that I will be able to play in these tournaments, because we have to play international cricket too.”
