Ampere flags off 50,000th electric scooter from Tamil Nadu plant

Ampere, the electric mobility company of Greaves Electric, has achieved the milestone of manufacturing 50,000 electric scooters at the new plant. The company itself has given information about achieving this target. Ampere has three electric scooters in its portfolio, which include Magnus, Magnus EX and Reo Plus. Ampere released its 50,000th electric scooter from its assembly line, following the completion of the company’s EV megasite in Ranipet (Tamil Nadu). The company says that the achievement of producing 50,000 electric vehicles at this facility is a testimony to the faith customers have in Ampere and its products.

The company has further informed that Ampere is preparing to achieve India’s target of increasing the number of electric vehicles in the country by 30% by 2030. The company says that the production of 50,000 electric scooters at the megasite is proof of their successful progress towards this larger goal.

Currently, Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM) manufactures electric two-wheelers under the brand name Ampere Vehicles and three-wheelers (e-autos and e-rickshaws) under the mobility brands ELE and Teja. The company claims that they have more than 1.5 lakh customers across the country.

As mentioned, Ampere has three top electric scooters – Reo Plus, Magnus, and Magnus EX. Their ex-showroom (including GST and FAME II subsidy) price is Rs 61,999, Rs 65,999 and Rs 75,749 respectively. Where on one hand the single charge range of Reo Plus and Magnus is 65 km and 80 km respectively. At the same time, the single charge range of the Magnus Plus electric scooter is said to be maximum 100 km.
