Asia Cup 2023 schedule released in Lahore
New Delhi. Amidst the BCCI-PCB tussle, the Asia Cup 2023 schedule has finally arrived. The tournament will start from 30 August. The first match of India and Pakistan will be played on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. At the same time, the opening match of Asia Cup will be held in Multan between host Pakistan and Nepal. At the same time, the final of the tournament will be held in Colombo on 17 September.
A total of 13 matches will be played between India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and the winner of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup Nepal team.

first round
30 August – Pakistan vs Nepal – Multan
31 August – Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka – Kandy
September 2 – India vs Pakistan – Kandy
September 3 – Bangladesh vs Afghanistan – Lahore
September 4 – India vs Nepal – Kandy
September 5 – Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan – Lahore
Super-4 round schedule
6 September – A1 vs B2 – Lahore
September 9 – B1 VS B2 – Colombo
September 10 – A1 vs A2 – Colombo
September 12 – A2 VS B1 – Colombo
September 14 – A1 vs B1 – Colombo
September 15 – A2 VS B2 – Colombo
September 17 – Final
If India-Pakistan reaches Super-4 then that match will be played in Colombo. Apart from Multan in Pakistan, matches will be played in Lahore. The final of the tournament will be played in Colombo on 17 September. There have been many changes in the draft schedule made by the Pakistan Cricket Board. This time the tournament will be played in Sri Lanka and Pakistan on the basis of hybrid model.
As per the original draft, Pakistan was to host four matches in just one city. However, Multan was added as the second venue after the new PCB administration under new chairman Zaka Ashraf took over this month.
A total of 13 matches will be played in the Asia Cup. Pakistan is placed in Group A along with India and Nepal while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are in Group B. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super-4 round and in this stage the top two teams will reach the finals. Asia Cup, this time will be played in ODI format. Except for Nepal, this tournament will be important for the preparation of the World Cup for the remaining 5 teams.
The first match will be between Bangladesh and Afghanistan on 3 September at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. After this, on September 5, there will be a clash between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in Lahore. Pakistan and India are ranked anywhere in the first round but Pakistan will be A1 and India will be A2. At the same time, Sri Lanka will be B1 and Bangladesh’s team will be B2.
If Nepal and Afghanistan qualify for the Super-4s, these two teams will replace the teams that were eliminated from the tournament (in Group-A it will be Pakistan or India and in Group-B it will be either Sri Lanka or Bangladesh )
Only one match of the Super-4 round will be played in Pakistan. This match will be held between A1 and B2 team in Lahore on 6th September.
