Ather 450 electric scooters are being upgraded with a long range of 146 km, will compete with Ola!

Ather is reportedly preparing to launch its existing 450 Plus and 450X electric scooters with some major changes. Leaked documents of the new models show that both the models will be equipped with more range than before and changes will also be made in their design. Talking about the current models, the Ather 450 Plus has a single charge true range of 85 km (116 km certified range) and the Ather 450X has a true range of 70 km (100 km certified range). The latest media report has claimed that soon these scooters will be upgraded with a range of up to 146 km.

The company is going to use a big battery pack for this. Reports suggest that the upgraded electric scooters will feature a 3.66kWh battery pack, which is a significant jump from the current 2.9kWh battery pack.

Information about the electric motor has also been given in the leaked documents. The report speculates that the 450X will get a 3.1kW/6.4kW electric motor, while the 450 Plus will include a 3.1kW/5.8kW electric motor. Let us tell you that both these current models have electric motors of 3.3kW/5.4kW and 3.3kW/6kW respectively.

Both the electric scooters can get a long range thanks to the bigger battery pack and more powerful electric motor than before. The report claims that the range of the upgraded 450 Plus and 450X electric scooters will be 146 km and 108 km respectively. It is not clear whether this range will be certified range or true range.

The documents reveal that there will be design changes for both the electric scooters as well. The report suggests that the wheelbase of the Ather scooter will be increased by 9mm, while the height will increase by 11mm. This means that efforts are being made to make the Ather 450 series more comfortable than the current models and its rival Ola S1 Pro.
