Australia team wiil tour of New zealand in next year for three match t20 series – Latest Cricket News

The teams of Australia and New Zealand, who are preparing to take on the field against each other on November 14 in the final of the T20 World Cup 2021, will play a three-match T20 series next year. This three-match series will be played in March and will be hosted by the New Zealand team. This series will be very important for both the teams in view of the World Cup of quick cricket to be played in Australia next year. However, during this series the Kangaroo team will also be facing Pakistan, due to which a young team from Australia will tour New Zealand.

Cricket Australia (CA) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC) confirmed the series on Friday and said the matches will be played in Wellington and Napier on March 17, 18 and 20. Australia will have to select a different squad for the T20 format. In 2021 too, when both the teams played five matches, a different Test team was selected for the tour of South Africa. However, the South Africa tour was canceled due to Kovid-19. Head coach Justin Langer did not participate in that tour and his assistant Andrew McDonald was temporarily appointed as coach. David Warner, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood were not available on that tour and due to the three Test matches in Pakistan between March 3 and March 25, these players may not travel to New Zealand this time too.

CA made it clear that priority will be given to the Test matches against Pakistan and fresh and young players will be selected for the T20 series. Chief Executive Nick Hockley said: “The pandemic has had a profound effect on New Zealand’s domestic calendar and we look forward to continuing this tour to help our neighbours.” Also, there is probably no better opportunity to prepare for the World Cup to be held in October and November next year. The first match is scheduled to be played in Perth on 30 January but boundary constraints in Western Australia could be a problem.
