Australia vs Bangladesh T20 World Cup 2021 Australia beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets – Latest Cricket News

Australia defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the Group 1 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. In the match played at the Dubai International Stadium, Australia bundled out Bangladesh for 73 runs in 15 overs thanks to the career-best bowling of Adam Zampa (five for 19) and then chased down the target in 6.2 overs for the loss of two wickets. Captain Aaron Finch scored 40 runs for Australia. This is Australia’s third win in four matches and now they have six points. South Africa also have six points in this group. With this win, Australia’s net run rate has also improved a lot and it has reached number two.

This is the biggest win in T20 International cricket in terms of Australia’s most balls remaining. At the same time, in the T20 World Cup, it is the second major victory for any team in terms of balls remaining. Before Australia, Sri Lanka won in Chittagong in 2014 with 90 balls to spare.

Earlier, leg-spinner Adam Zampa took a career-best five-for as Australia bundled out Bangladesh for 73. Bangladesh’s innings fell apart like a pack of cards. None of his batsmen could face the fast bowlers and spinners of Australia. His team got out in just 15 overs after being invited to bat first.

Zampa took five wickets for 19 runs in four overs. Apart from them, fast bowlers Mitchell Starc (2 for 21) and Josh Hazlewood (2 for 8) took four wickets while all-rounder Glenn Maxwell (1 for 6) sent a batsman to the pavilion. For Bangladesh, only three batsmen Mohammad Naeem (17), captain Mahmudullah (16) and Shamim Hossain (19) reached double digits. His innings included seven fours and a six.

Bangladesh were at one point struggling at 33 for five after a top-order collapse. Mahmudullah and Shamim raised hopes of a comeback midway. Meanwhile, Shamim also hit the only six of the innings on Zampa. After dismissing Shamim, Zampa dismissed Mahedi Hasan leg before the next ball. He had a chance for a hat-trick on the first ball of the next over but wicketkeeper Matthew Wade dropped the catch. Starc got Mahmudullah caught behind the wicket while Zampa took the remaining two wickets to end Bangladesh’s innings.
