Gill was given out controversially by the umpire
The Aussie cricketer got it totally right
New Delhi. The final of the World Test Championship between India and Australia is being played at The Oval. Sunday is the last day of this test. Team India needs 280 runs to win and 7 wickets are left. On the fourth day there was a lot of controversy over the decision to give Shubman Gill out. Australian player’s comment has come on this.
Australia’s wicketkeeper Alex Carey said after the fourth day’s play, “I think we have given a good target. We need more wickets. But Kohli and Rahane are playing well. Talking about the catch of Cameron Green, we were happy. Because absolutely the right decision was taken. He was scoring at a run rate of 6 runs per over. Which was not good for us.
Shubman Gill controversially out
Shubman Gill was dismissed in the 8th over of India’s second innings. Gill tried to defend the first ball of this over from Scott Boland. But his bat took an outside edge and the ball went straight to Green. After seeing several times in the camera, the umpire gave Gill out. The umpire said that Green’s finger was under the ball. But nothing like this was visible in the camera. It seemed that the ball had hit the ground.
Reliance on Ajinkya Rahane and Kohli
Virat Kohli and Rahane are India’s biggest hopes on the fifth and last day of the World Test Championship. Kohli is playing 44 in 60 balls and Rahane is playing 20 runs in 59 balls. If India has to save or win this match, then it is necessary for both of them to stay at the crease. Ajinkya Rahane scored 89 runs in the first innings of this test.
