Babar-Rizwan to be dropped from Pakistan’s T20 team? Shahid Afridi made a big announcement

Afridi wants to strengthen Pakistan’s bench strength
The former captain said, we will give opportunity to more and more youth

new Delhi. Interim Chief Selector of Pakistan Cricket Team Shahid Afridi has made another big announcement. He has said that only those players will be selected in the National T20 team, whose strike rate will be 135 or more. The former captain has said that the doors of the national team will not open for those batsmen whose strike rate is less than 135 in the domestic T20 tournament. After this decree of Afridi, the place in the team of Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan may be in danger. Actually, the strike rate of both these batters in T20 is less than 130.

Questions were raised on the slow batting of captain Babar Azam and vice-captain Mohammad Rizwan in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. Former Pakistan cricketers believe that Babar should not open in T20 format. Due to the slow game of these two, the team is not able to take advantage of the powerplay. Due to not being able to score runs in the beginning, there is pressure on the rest of the batter.

During the World Cup, Shahid Afridi himself has advocated that Babar should bat in the middle order. They should vacate the opening slot for hitters like Shan Masood, Fakhar Zaman or Mohammad Haris. Talking to Sama TV, Chief Selector Afridi said that we have to give place to more and more youngsters in the team. However, he did not clarify on which players the decree of strike rate of 135 would be applicable. Will all players come under this ambit or only new players?

Want to make Pakistan strong like Team India
Due to IPL and domestic cricket, the bench strength of Team India is very strong. At one time, 2 teams of India can be fielded. Now Pakistan’s chief selector Shahid Afridi is also trying to follow the same path. Talking to the media, Afridi said that I want to make 2 teams for Pakistan before the end of my tenure. In such a situation, we have to strengthen our bench strength. For this, the youth will have to be associated with the team. Till now there was a lot of lack of communication in PCB. Now I am personally talking to every player of the national team. Along with this, I am also keeping an eye on the performance of young players.
