Bajaj Auto registers 11 percent drop in sales due to weak exports


Bajaj Auto, one of the country’s largest two-wheeler companies, reported a 11 percent decline in total wholesales to 2,80,226 units in February. The figure for the company was 3,16,020 units in the same month last year. However, Bajaj Auto’s total sales in the country grew by 36 percent to 1,53,291 units.

The company has suffered losses due to the decline in exports. Bajaj Auto’s exports declined by 38 percent to 1,26,935 units last month. It was 2,03,273 units in the same month last year. company Two-wheeler wholesales in the country grew by almost 25 percent to 1,20,335 units. It was at 96,523 units in the same month last year. Its two-wheeler exports have decreased by about 37 percent. The company’s commercial vehicle wholesales grew by 22 percent to 44,870 units.

Bajaj Auto is planning to bring a new version of its Pulsar 220F. It is said to be the most popular two-wheeler in the country. Last month, Bajaj Auto and Swiss sports bike brand KTM made a joint venture to sell 10 lakh KTM motorcycles. Production has achieved. KTM motorcycles in India are manufactured at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant near Pune in Maharashtra. This plant can manufacture 2 lakh KTM bikes per year.

There was a partnership between the two companies 15 years ago. Under this, the production started with the KTM 200 Duke about 10 years back. Since then the Bajaj Auto plant has become a production hub for KTM for 125-373 cc bikes. A large number of these bikes are sold in India and they are also exported to many countries.
