Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi on Saturday personally apologized to the Bangladesh batsman for throwing a throw at Afif Hossain during the second T20I. Hussain hit a six off Shaheen Afridi, after which the Pakistani bowler lost his cool. Afridi later took the ball in the follow through and threw it towards the stumps, although Hossain was at his crease at that time. The ball hit the batsman and the doctor had to go to the field to see him.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a video showing Shaheen walking towards Hussain after the match and apologizing for his actions. At the same time, he smiled and hugged the Bangladeshi batsman. Shaheen’s unnecessarily aggressive behavior was neither liked by the Pakistani team management nor the PCB, prompting the fast bowler to immediately apologize to Afif.
Pakistan have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after winning the second T20I. But the behavior of another fast bowler Hasan Ali has also not been liked by the management. Hasan was also reprimanded for his actions after the dismissal of Bangladeshi batsman Nurul Hasan in the first T20.
