The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a tender for the media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2023 to 2027 season. According to a press release issued by the BCCI on Tuesday, the IPL Governing Council has invited tenders from reputed organizations to acquire media rights for the IPL 2023 to 2027 season through a tender process.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a tweet, “I am happy to announce that BCCI has issued tender for IPL Media Rights for Season 2023-27. Two new teams, more matches, more engagements and more. With more venues, we want to take IPL to newer and greater heights.”
Shah said, “I have no doubt that this process will not only increase the revenue but will also increase the prices, which will immensely benefit Indian cricket. The tender document is now available for purchase. A first in IPL history. Bar media rights will be e-auctioned, which will be held on June 12.”
The procedure for submission of tender including eligibility requirements, proposed media rights package, obligations and detailed terms and conditions relating to the tender process are included in the Invitation to Tender (ITT) which will be made available on payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs.25 lakhs. The procedure for obtaining ITT documents listed separately. ITT can be bought till 10th May.
Interested parties are required to send the details of payment made for purchase of ITT to [email protected] as per prescribed procedure. Any party desirous of filling the tender is required to purchase ITT. However, only those fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in ITT and other terms and conditions laid down therein will be eligible to tender. The BCCI may cancel or modify the Bidding Process at any stage at its sole discretion.
