New Delhi. The BCCI had announced the Test team for the South Africa tour a day earlier. Along with this, it was also announced to hand over the captaincy of ODI to Rohit in place of Virat Kohli. However, the Indian Cricket Board did not disclose the reason for this. But after taking the captaincy of the ODI team from Virat Kohli, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has broken his silence.
Ganguly said in a conversation with news agency ANI that the decision to remove Virat from the captaincy has been taken with the consent of the BCCI and the selectors. The BCCI had earlier requested Virat not to give up the captaincy of the T20 team. But he was not ready for it. In such a situation, the selectors also felt that it would not be right to have different captains for ODI and T20 teams.
