PCA President Gulzar Chahal came under question due to his retired DGP father
Father has been accused of misbehaving with the curator of Mohali Stadium

New Delhi. Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) president Gulzar Chahal has come under the scanner after his father (former IPS officer) allegedly misbehaved with a veteran curator inside the PCA stadium premises. The incident happened about two weeks ago, when Gulzar’s father, retired DGP Harinder Singh Chahal, was on an evening walk inside the premises of the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

The veteran curator is a life member of the PCA and has served in various capacities in the BCCI. After this incident, he was barred from entering the field for a few days, but when the matter caught fire inside the PCA corridors, he was allowed to enter the stadium.

A senior PCA official told PTI, “The president’s father cannot be allowed to use the stadium premises for morning or evening walks as he is not a member of the association. The experienced curators did not recognize his father and hence they interrogated him.

The Australian captain turned down the offer of crores from India’s domestic league, know why he did this?

He said, ‘When the curator came to know that he was the father of the PCA president, he apologized but he was asked not to come inside the stadium. The veteran curator is a life member of the PCA but does not hold any position. It is understood that the issue of temporarily banning the veteran curator from coming to the field was gaining momentum, after which he was allowed to enter the stadium and work. There was no response to phone calls and text messages (phone messages) from PCA chief Gulzar seeking feedback in this matter.
