Bharatpur. The 42nd Lohagarh Kesari Dangal was organized at Lohagarh Stadium with the help of District Wrestling Association and Bhuri Singh Gymnasium. In this wrestling riot, the wrestling of Lohagarh Kesari title took place between wrestler Vicky Chahar of Delhi and Deepak Poonia of Sonipat, Haryana. Poonia was victorious and was awarded Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand, gurj, T-shirt and dry fruits by the organizing committee.
Vicky Chahar of New Delhi, who was the runner-up, was presented with Rs 51,000 and other materials as a prize. In wrestling for the same title, Ashish Chhatrapal of Delhi stood third and Lakshya of Bhilwara stood fourth. During the wrestling riot, the Minister of State for Technical Education Dr. Subhash Garg said that in order to encourage sports, the state government has also given out-of-turn appointments as well as awards given to the winning players. District Wrestling Association President Sitaram Gupta said that the wrestling riots held in Bharatpur are keeping the Indian style of wrestling alive.
