Big decision regarding ODI World Cup in BCCI review meeting… only 20 cricketers will get chance

BCCI is going to prepare a pool of 20 players in ODI format. In view of the World Cup, these 20 players will be rotated in the team. Jai Shah gave this information after the review meeting held today regarding India’s poor performance in T20 World Cup 2022.

In a press release issued by the BCCI, it was told, “The National Cricket Academy will work with all the IPL franchises keeping in mind the future plan of the men’s team and the World Cup 2023. Core cricketers playing in IPL 2023 will be monitored. Budding cricketers will have to play in domestic cricket as well only then they will be given a chance in the national team.

It was told that only those cricketers who pass Yo-Yo test and Dexa test will be given further chances. He will be included in the annual contract of BCCI. Apart from BCCI President Roger Binny, head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma and NCA President VVS Laxman are also part of this meeting.

The Indian team ended the T20 World Cup 2022 by staying till the semi-finals. Rohit & Co. was expected to end India’s World Cup drought but it could not happen. It was decided to remove the Chetan Sharma-led selection committee after the World Cup. However, the review meeting regarding the T20 World Cup could not be held for the last two months.
