Big upset before the World Cup, Oman beat Pakistan and England by 5 wickets

New Delhi. The excitement of the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in India has begun. Teams are playing qualifier matches to make a place in the tournament. A big upset was seen in the fourth match itself. Oman created a sensation by registering a big 5-wicket victory over Ireland, the team that defeated powerful teams like Pakistan and England in the world.

Qualifier matches for the ICC ODI World Cup are being played in Zimbabwe. There was a big upset in the fourth match of the qualifiers. Ireland’s team got a crushing defeat by 5 wickets at the hands of Oman. Batting first, the Ireland team scored 281 runs for 7 wickets. Which was achieved by the Oman team at the loss of 5 wickets in 48.1 overs.

Ireland’s team’s batting against Oman was not good and the team somehow managed to score 281 runs. Team star George Dockrell scored an unbeaten 91 while Harry Tector scored 52 runs. Apart from these two, no batter could do much. Bilal Khan and Fayad Butt took 2-2 wickets from Oman.

Oman won the match by 5 wickets

Chasing the target, Oman did not get off to a good start but Kashyap Prajapati along with Akib Ilyas took charge of the innings. Both the half-century innings brought the team back on track. Prajapati scored 72 and Ilyas scored 52 runs. Captain Zeeshan Masood, who came out to bat at number four, scored 59 runs and almost took the match out of Ireland’s reach. Mohammad Nadeem, playing an unbeaten inning of 46 runs, gave the team this memorable victory.
