The BMW i4 is built on an updated version of the BMW CLAR modular architecture. It is basically an all-electric version of the 4 Series Gran Coupe available in the overseas market. The company claims that the eDrive 40 variant (single rear electric motor) of the i4 can do 0-100 kmph in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 190 kmph. Its electric motor is capable of generating 340 PS of maximum power and 430 Nm of peak torque.
The BMW i4 is powered by an 80.7 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 590 km (WLTP cycle), which is the highest for any electric vehicle in India. With a 205 kW DC fast charger, the i4’s battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes. As an introductory offer, BMW is also offering an 11 kW Wallbox AC charger with the EV. This charger will fully charge the battery from 0% to 100% in about 8 hours.
Talking about the interiors, the i4 gets BMW’s curved display with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well as a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The system will support OTA updates. This includes 360-degree camera, 3-zone climate control, wireless charging, sunroof, powered front seats etc.
