That is, the former New Zealand captain has got this responsibility for a long time. McCullum is currently a part of IPL 2022. He is the coach of KKR. He is likely to join the English team by the end of the month. Chris Silverwood resigned as coach after the Ashes series defeat to Australia. Apart from this, Captain Jay Root had also decided to withdraw. In his place, Ben Stokes has been made the new Test captain of the team.

In a release issued by England Cricket, Brendon McCullum said, together with Ben Stokes, he is associated with the goal of taking the team forward. I am aware of the challenges of the team. It is known that the team could not win from 9 Tests. Talking about the last 17 Tests, he has won only one match. McCullum has previously coached Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League.

Coaching for the first time

Brendon McCullum will be seen coaching for the first time in first class cricket. He has experience of playing 101 Tests. He had retired from the game from 2019. McCullum’s Test will start with the 3-match Test series between England and New Zealand. The first Test is to be played from June 2 at Lord’s. The team for the series will be selected next week. Senior bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad may return. He didn’t get a chance against West Indies.
