Brendon McCullum warns Test cricket could die if he cannot turn England around – Claims Brendon McCullum

Brendon McCullum, the new head coach of England’s Test team, has warned that Test cricket will die if he does not replace the England team. He has said that Test cricket could die if they are unable to play the brand of cricket that challenges England to the best teams in the world and attracts the next generation of talent. McCullum now has a good coaching experience.

Kiwi legend McCullum has been tasked with transforming a team that has won just one of their last 17 Test matches. Not only this, the former New Zealand captain is ready to enjoy the challenge. He wants to see England play “a lucrative brand of cricket”. He warned the team that Test cricket needs it.

In an interview to the ECB, McCullum said, “Test cricket has always been the pinnacle of the game for me and it really is. I think the popularity of Test cricket has moved somewhat southwards. In order to not only sustain, but also thrive. England need to play an attractive brand of cricket, which is competitive with Australia, India and New Zealand.”
