Let us tell you that Classic Legend is currently focusing on its petrol based Gold Star 650. A part of the resources will also be invested in the development of electric motorcycles. Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director of Mahindra’s auto and farm sector, has confirmed this.
Jejurikar further said that Mahindra and Classic Legends will use the global popularity of BSA to ignite the electric mobility space. Information about the creation of an electric motorcycle by Classic Legends has been floating around the internet for a long time. It was initially believed that the Indian bike maker would launch its first electric bike under the Jawa brand, but BSA could prove to be an alternative.
BSA Goldstar 650 Engine & Specifications
Talking about the engine and specifications, the BSA Goldstar 650 is a modern classic motorcycle that is equipped with a 652cc single cylinder, liquid cooled motor that generates 45hp power and 55Nm torque. This unit will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox, with slipper and assist clutch.
As far as performance is concerned, according to Classic Legends the motorcycle can reach a top speed of 166kmph. The company also says that in future this engine can be tuned for more power and torque. The suspension duties will be handled by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Talking about braking, both the wheels will get a single disc brake, which will be supported by dual-channel ABS from Continental.
