Autocar India’s Report It has been claimed that BYD is ready to launch its new electric car Atto 3 in the country between October-December this year. The report also claims that BYD will showcase the Atto 3 at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023.
The report claims that the BYD Atto 3 electric car will cost around Rs 30 lakh in India. In this price segment, this car will compete with MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
The Atto 3 is built on the E3 platform and measures around 4.5 meters in length. The good news is that it will reportedly be assembled in India via the semi-knocked down or SKD route, wherein the gearbox is either assembled into the chassis or the engine. In India, this car can be made at BYD’s Chennai factory. In this factory, the company has already been manufacturing its e6 MPV.
According to the report, BYD’s Senior Vice President in India, Sanjay Gopavakrishnan says that the sale of this car may start early next year. Apart from this, he has also told that in the next one year after the launch of this car, the network of electric vehicles will be spread to 25 top cities of the country.
Talking about power and specifications, the BYD Atto 3 car has a motor of 150 kW capacity. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Provides a range of 480 KM on a single charge.
