New Delhi: T20 World Cup 2021 will be played in UAE and Oman from 17th of this month. This big tournament is being played once again after a long gap of 5 years. Just before the start of the World Cup, the ICC has decided to make a major change in the rules of cricket.
Changed this rule
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Thursday that batsmen will be used instead of batsmen in the T20 World Cup starting next month. In September, the Marylebone Cricket Club announced that the word ‘batsman’ would be replaced with ‘batters’ in the Laws of Cricket. This change will now be visible in all ICC games going forward. This rule has been discussed a lot before.
This word is also taken in commentary
The ICC said that in the last four years, the use of the word batsman has reduced. Commentaries and broadcasters also use the term batters more often now. ICC Acting CEO Geoff Allardyce said that we welcome the MCC’s decision to add batters to the Laws of the Game. “The term batters has been used in channels and commentary for some time now and we welcome the MCC’s decision to introduce it into the Laws of Cricket,” Allardyce said in a statement.
Cricket will have a big impact
Allardyce also said that this is a small change, but it will have a significant impact on cricket as it will be seen as a more special game. Let us tell you that the T20 World Cup will start in UAE just after the IPL. The IPL final will be played on October 15. India will face Pakistan in their first match in the World Cup on 24 October.
