The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has planned to hold the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) elections on July 4 and has appointed Mahesh Mittal Kumar, former Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, as the Returning Officer. Elections will be held in the Special General Meeting (AGM) of WFI. In a letter to Justice Mittal Kumar, the IOA said that the IOA has to take steps to conduct the elections to the Executive Council of the WFI and we are happy to appoint you as the Election Officer for the WFI elections. You may consider hiring an assistant election officer and other staff to help you conduct the election.

According to the letter, the elections are to be held in the Special General Meeting of the WFI, which has been called on July 4, and the schedule for the elections will have to be prepared accordingly. It said that we look forward to your confirmation of acceptance of the post and the WFI elections on 4th July. Sources, however, said that Justice Mittal Kumar himself can decide on the date of the SGM and elections and it is up to him to hold the elections on July 4 or a few days later.
