Chasing the target of 212 runs for victory, the South African team achieved the target with the loss of 3 wickets. David Miller played an important role in winning the match for the visiting team. In the match, he played an innings of 64 not out off 31 balls. He was awarded the player of the match title. He became the first player from South Africa to win the highest number of Player of the Match awards in T20 Internationals. In this case, he left behind former South African captain AB de Villiers. David Miller, popularly known as Killer Miller, is celebrating his 33rd birthday today.
In the T20 match played against India, David Miller came to bat at number five. Then South Africa had lost three wickets for 81 runs in 8.4 overs. Team India almost made a comeback in the match. But it was from here that David Miller took the lead with Rasi van der Dusen. Miller played an aggressive batting innings of 64 runs in 31 balls. In his innings, he hit 4 fours and 5 sixes. During this, Dussen also scored an unbeaten 75 off 46 balls. He hit 7 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. Due to the brilliant innings of these two batsmen, South Africa won this match by 7 wickets.
De Villiers breaks record
In the T20 match played against India, David Miller played a match-winning innings. Due to this innings, David Miller was awarded the title of Player of the Match. He is the first player from South Africa who has won the Player of the Match award for the most number of times in a T20 International match for his country. It was earlier won by AB de Villiers 7 times for South Africa in T20 Internationals.
South Africa’s biggest run chase
This is the biggest run chase by the South Africa men’s cricket team in T20 Internationals. Earlier in the year 2007, South Africa had achieved the target of 202 runs against the West Indies. Whereas in 2015, South Africa successfully achieved the target of 200 runs against India. In the year 2018, South Africa chased 189 runs against India. In 2012, against New Zealand, South Africa achieved the target of 174 runs.
