In the second semi-final match, Australia’s batsmen gave a strong performance, chasing the target of 177 runs an over before, giving the team a ticket to the final. The hero of this team’s victory was Matthew Wade, who scored 41 runs in just 17 balls while batting in the last over. Apart from Wade, opener David Warner’s bat also roared fiercely as he played a fiery innings of 49 runs. During this innings, Warner hit such a six on the strange ball of Mohammad Hafeez, seeing that all the cricket fans could not stop themselves from laughing.
In fact, Mohammad Hafeez, who came to bowl the seventh over of Australia’s innings, bowled the first ball but he could not release it properly and the ball reached Warner after taking two steps. Warner also chased the ball and going towards the leg-side, hit a strong six on it. The umpire also called it a no ball, due to which seven runs were added to Australia’s account without any ball. Australia needed 22 runs in the last two overs to win, but Matthew Wade batted explosively and ended the match by hitting three consecutive sixes in the 19th over of Shaheen Afridi. Wade’s catch was also dropped by Hasan Ali in the same over, which proved decisive in the last. Earlier, Pakistan had scored 176 runs for the loss of 4 wickets on the basis of 67 runs by Mohammad Rizwan and 55 runs by Fakhar Zaman.
