It was raining on Thursday with David Warner’s bat against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warner, who once captained this team, opened the innings for Delhi Capitals and hit 92 not out off 58 balls. Warner hit 12 fours and three sixes during his innings. On the basis of his innings, Delhi Capitals scored 207 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. As the Delhi Capitals innings came to an end, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar won everyone’s heart with their sportsmanship.
Both reached Warner and congratulated him for this strong innings. Things went awry last year between Warner and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warner was first stripped of the captaincy and then he was also dropped from the playing XI.
Warner, who won the IPL title under his captaincy to Sunrisers Hyderabad, was not retained before the mega auction this year, after which he went to the auction and was bought by Delhi Capitals. Warner has been a part of the Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) team in the past as well. Apart from Warner, Rovman Powell scored 67 not out off 35 balls.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the only bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad to score runs at an economy rate of less than 7. The rest of the bowlers were thrashed by Warner and Powell.
