IND vs NZ 3rd T20: Gautam Gambhir gave special advice to captain Rohit, asked to include this player in the playing XI
A senior BCCI official told news agency PTI-Bhasha, “Yes, Deepak and Ishaan have been included in the team. He will finish the match in Kolkata and join the A team before leaving for South Africa. Ishaan is understood to have been sent because the Chetan Sharma-led committee had mistakenly selected only one wicketkeeper, Railways’ Upendra Yadav, for the tour.
Another board official said, “The team also needed a second wicketkeeper and Ishaan is the best option. He will probably be the first choice for this job now. Deepak hasn’t played much cricket with the red ball (Test) but because of his ability to swing the ball, the selectors want to keep him busy.
