Delhi government is giving a discount of up to Rs 7,500 on electric cycles


The Delhi government has approved the first batch of electric bicycle models under its Electric Vehicle Policy (Delhi EV Policy), under which customers will get a subsidy of Rs 5,500. With this, the capital Delhi has become the first state in the country, where subsidy will also be given on electric cycles. The first 1,000 initial customers who buy the passenger e-cycle will also get an additional discount of Rs 2,000, which means these customers will get a total subsidy of Rs 7,500.

Along with this, it has also been told that the initial 1,000 customers will also get a discount of extra Rs 2,000. Delhi has become the first state in the country to give subsidy on electric cycles.

Reports suggest that three OEMs have received ‘range certification’, but Hero Lectro has five models approved under the Delhi EV policy, with a range of 28.5 km to 45 km, and a price tag between Rs 30,999 and Rs 54,999. Is. Although these models will get a subsidy of Rs 5,500, but the initial 1,000 customers will get these electric scooters with a discount of Rs 7,500 at a price of Rs 23,499 to Rs 47,499.

On the other hand, 33% of the selling price on the cargo e-cycle will be available as a discount subsidy. This discount has been limited to Rs 15,000. Along with this, additional scrapping incentive of up to Rs 3,000 will also be available for scrapping old ICE vehicles.

Currently, a cargo e-cycle from Hero Lectro has been approved, which has a single charge range of 52.7 km and is priced at Rs 49,999.

The financial incentive will be implemented by the dealer on behalf of the customer after the sale of the e-cycle. An official said that this amount will be deposited within 7 to 10 working days to the customers’ bank accounts linked to their Aadhaar.
