Dhoni played a big bet, made the first ‘Impact Player’ of IPL 2023, but the bowler looted the most runs

New Delhi. In the opening match of IPL 2023, defending champions Gujarat Titans defeated 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. The one rule that was discussed the most before the start of this season. That was the Impact Player Rule and in the very first match, the Impact Player was used by both the teams. Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Tushar Deshpande became the first player to be used as an impact player in IPL 2023.

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni took this decision after the end of the first innings. Dhoni fielded Tushar in place of Ambati Rayudu. Let us tell you that the names of Subhranshu Senapati, Sheikh Rashid, Tushar Deshpande, Ajinkya Rahane and Nishant Sindhu were included in the 5 players who were named as ‘Impact Player’ option after the toss in the match against CSK Gujarat Titans. But, Dhoni gave a chance to Tushar.

Dhoni fielded Tushar Deshpande as the first impact player of IPL 2023. But, this bet of the CSK captain backfired. Tushar could not even complete his quota of 4 overs in the match. They proved to be the most expensive. He gave 51 runs in 3.2 overs and got only 1 wicket. This was Tushar’s 8th match in IPL.
