KL Rahul has been removed from the post of vice-captain.
KL is expected to be out of the playing XI in the third test.
New Delhi. Team India opener KL Rahul is going through bad form in Test cricket. In the ongoing series against Australia, he has been able to score only 38 runs in three innings, after which he is being criticized fiercely. After poor performance and severe criticism, it is expected that Rahul will not be a part of the playing eleven of the third Test match to be held in Indore from March 1. Rahul has been running out of form in Test cricket for the last one year. Rahul has also been stripped of his vice-captain post. In such a situation, India’s experienced batsman Dinesh Karthik, while sharing his emotional story, has advised KL Rahul to take a break for some time.
Dinesh Karthik has seen many ups and downs in both his cricket and personal life. He said that even Rahul himself knows that he too is going to drop from the next game. He needs to fix his mindset as there is no problem with his technique. They just need to pay attention to what is going on in their mind. Talking on Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik said, “He knows that if he is dropped from the next match, it is not just because of one innings. This is the reason for what happened in the last 5-6 Tests. He is a class player. He is very good in all formats. So I don’t think there is anything wrong with the technology, whatever is going on in his mind. Maybe he needs to take some time off from the game. He should make a fresh comeback in ODIs.
Dinesh Karthik gave his example. He said, “This is the professional world. You have to deal with those sad moments, but as a player, when I see, I know what he has gone through. When you get out like this, you know very well that it could be your last innings. This has happened to me, when you walk into the dressing room, quietly go to the toilet, and burst into tears. It’s not a good feeling, because there’s nothing you can do.”
Rahul averages 16.5 in the last 12 innings since scoring a century against South Africa in Centurion in December 2021. In such a situation, like other experts, Dinesh Karthik also said that Shubman Gill should open with captain Rohit Sharma in the next two matches. Shubman Gill has been brilliant in every format for India in the last few months.
He said, “I will go with Shubman Gill. He has batted very beautifully. There will be only one change in India’s third test. I felt bad for KL Rahul. He will remain under watch, but one thing is sure that KL Rahul will make a strong comeback. And he does so. There are not many right-handed batsmen who can match him with the quality and range of shots.
