‘Don’t ask me, ask Kohli…’ Gavaskar furious over Virat’s bad shot, classed other batsmen as well

New Delhi. Sunil Gavaskar is furious with Team India’s poor batting in the final of the World Test Championship. On the 5th day, the Indian team had to score 280 runs to win and 7 wickets were left. But, all these seven wickets fell within 70 runs and Australia won the World Test Championship title by defeating India by 209 runs. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane also did not work. Sunil Gavaskar got angry on the poor performance of Indian batsmen. In particular, he questioned the manner in which Kohli was dismissed. Gavaskar also took a class on Cheteshwar Pujara.

Sunil Gavaskar said about the dismissal of Virat Kohli, “It was a bad shot. You are asking me how Kohli played such a shot. You should ask him how he played that shot. How will you score a century when you play shots like this. Batting was really bad. The kind of shots that our batsmen played, it would have been a big deal if they could have lasted even a session. Till then Kohli was leaving the ball going outside the off stump. It is possible that in his mind he is 1 run away from that half-century. This happens when you are close to a milestone. This happened with Jadeja. Even when he was on 48, he played such a ball, which he should not have played.

Gavaskar further said, “The batting was very bad. The performance on the last day was shameful. Especially the shot selection was bad. Cheteshwar Pujara played a very bad shot yesterday.
