When Pakistani bowler sled Virender Sehwag
Raised questions on Veeru’s talent to make him angry

New Delhi. Sledding is not a big deal on the cricket field. This has happened in the past as well and it is happening even today. We get to see sledging many times in the matches of India and Pakistan. Something similar happened in the year 2005 too when a Pakistani bowler questioned Virender Sehwag’s talent in the middle ground. This was Rana Naveed ul Hasan. Who used to be the best bowler of Pakistan. He himself disclosed this in an interview.

Naved ul Hasan told in a podcast of Nadir Ali, “We were playing against India in 2005. Virender Sehwag was hitting all the bowlers. I went to Eng Bhai (Inzamam-ul-Haq) and said give me the ball. Maybe something will happen. At first Engi bhai hesitated a bit but he gave me the ball. I bowled the first ball bouncer but it went past Sehwag, then I told him that you don’t know how to play. If you were in Pakistan, no one would have fed you in an international match.

When the batsman remained at the crease for 9 hours for Team India, Sachin-Shastri also failed, bowlers showed stars for 1 wicket

Naved further said, “I made him angry and came back. Sehwag also said something to me. He was very angry. But I didn’t pay that much attention. I went to Eng Bhai and told him to see if he will get out on this ball. He said how? I said just watch. Then I bowled a slower one which went up. Sehwag could not time it and got out. It was a very important wicket. We could not have won the match without that wicket.”

Please tell that Rana Naved ul Hasan has been one of the best bowlers of Pakistan. He played 9 Tests, 74 ODIs and 4 T20 Internationals in his career. During this, he took 18, 110 and 5 wickets respectively. He did the feat of taking 5 wickets in ODIs once. Talking about runs, he has 239 runs in Tests and 524 runs in ODIs. His highest score in Test is 42 not out.
