Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) needed 6 runs in the last two balls and Ravichandran Ashwin had the ball in front. Delhi lost due to this big mistake of Ashwin

Questions are being raised on such bowling of Ravichandran Ashwin just before the T20 World Cup 2021. Ravichandran Ashwin is a very clever bowler, he already guesses which batsman has to bowl where. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a slightly flatter ball, on which Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Rahul Tripathi hit a brilliant shot and gave Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) victory.

Trust broken before T20 World Cup

If Rahul Tripathi could not hit a six off Ravichandran Ashwin, Delhi would have qualified for the final instead of KKR. In the match that reached the climax of the thrill, the ball kept rolling the dice, but with one ball remaining, Kolkata won the match on the basis of Rahul Tripathi’s six. When Rahul played the winning shot in the air, no one had any chance. All the players of Delhi, including captain Rishabh Pant, remained silent spectators. Ravichandran Ashwin broke trust just before the T20 World Cup 2021.

Delhi’s dream shattered

KKR needed six runs in the last two balls and Ravichandran Ashwin had the ball in front. Ashwin was on a hat-trick after taking wickets in the third and fourth balls of this over, but Tripathi smashed Delhi’s dream of winning the IPL for the first time by taking the fifth ball across the boundary. KKR won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Delhi scored 135 for 5 in 20 overs. Chasing the target, KKR won the match by scoring 136 runs for 7 wickets in 19.5 overs. Now KKR have to play against Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in the final on October 15.

This was the reaction of Pant after the defeat

After the defeat, Rishabh Pant said, ‘Nothing can change after the match. We wanted to stay in the match till the last minute. The bowlers brought us back into the match and bowled brilliantly in the middle overs. The batsmen failed to rotate the strike. Rishabh Pant said, ‘Hopefully next year we will come back strongly. We played good cricket throughout the tournament and supported each other. Will play better next year.

Disappointment was clearly visible on his face

Delhi’s young captain Rishabh Pant looked very disappointed after this defeat. Disappointment could be clearly seen on his face while answering the questions. With moist eyes, bowed eyes and a full voice, he continued to fulfill this responsibility nonetheless. Rishabh Pant promised the fans that the team will come back stronger next year. Rishabh Pant said, ‘If you ask me how I am feeling, I have no answer. After the fall of six wickets, we were confident that we would take the match forward, but we could not. He bowled well in the middle overs, we couldn’t rotate the strike. We played good cricket this season, whatever happened, we learn, hopefully we will do well next season.
