South Zone gave a crushing defeat to West Zone.
New Delhi. In the Duleep Trophy final (Duleep Trophy 2023), there was a competition between the teams of South Zone and West Zone. Batting first in this match, South Zone defeated the West Zone team by a big margin of 75 runs and won the title. Cheteshwar Pujara, known as Team India’s wall and star batsman Suryakumar Yadav were also present in the West Zone team. Despite this, the team had to face a crushing defeat.
Batting first, the team of South Zone scored a score of 213 runs in the first innings. In retaliation, the West Zone team was reduced to just 146 runs. From the West Zone, a half-century innings was seen with the bat of Prithvi Shaw. At the same time, Suryakumar Yadav and Cheteshwar Pujara could not even cross the double figures in the first innings. Talking about the batting of South Zone, Hanuma Bihari performed his responsibility as a captain in both the innings. He scored 63 runs in the first innings and 40 runs in the second innings.

South Zone scored 230 runs in the second innings and then pushed West Zone on the backfoot.
