Yashasvi left behind KL Rahul and Pat Cummins. Both had hit Fifty in 14-14 balls in IPL. But, Yashasvi did this feat in one ball less than both of them. Yashasvi scored an unbeaten 98 in 47 balls in this match. During this, he made heaps of records.
Let us tell you one by one how many records Yashasvi Jaiswal made during his unbeaten innings of 98 runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a fifty in just 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders. Earlier, the fastest fifty in IPL was studded by KL Rahul. He did this in 2018 against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). At the same time, Pat Cummins did this feat for Mumbai Indians last year.
Yashasvi joined another special list during this innings. In T20, only 3 players have scored half-centuries in less balls than them. In this, Yuvraj Singh did this in 2007, Chris Gayle in 2016 and Afghanistan’s Hazratullah Zazai in 2018. Both of them had hit Fifty in 12-12 balls. That is, after Yuvraj Singh, Yashasvi is the second Indian to hit the fastest fifty in T20.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is the second batsman in IPL history, who has hit sixes in the first 2 balls of an innings of an IPL match. Virat Kohli did this in 2019. That means Yashasvi equaled Virat.
With the help of an unbeaten inning of 98 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 576 runs in 12 innings this season. In this way, he has become the uncapped Indian who scored the most runs in IPL history. He has broken the record of Ishaan Kishan (516 runs).
