The jet was in the air above the runway and was making a steep landing like a helicopter, but suddenly pitched forward and crashed. During this, the pilot successfully ejected himself from the aircraft as it continued to roll over the runway after the crash.

According to a statement posted on Facebook by the White Settlement Police Department, officers arrived at the site of the collision at 10:15 local time and the accident was confined to military property near the flight line.
