Former Pakistan captain’s advice- ‘Let Umran Malik do something first, then compare with veterans’

New Delhi. In IPL 2022, Umran Malik made a lot of headlines due to his fast pace. Seeing his fast bowling, many cricket legends praised him. He was the second bowler to bowl the fastest ball in IPL 2022. In a match against Delhi Capitals, Umran bowled the ball at a speed of 157 kmph. After that he was compared to Shoaib Akhtar. On the other hand, former Pakistan captain Salman Butt downplayed the comparison between Shoaib Akhtar and Umran Malik, saying that the Indian pacer still has a long way to go in international cricket. According to Butt, Umran Malik should get a chance in Team India’s playing XI.

Talking on his official YouTube channel, Salman Butt said, ‘I don’t know why Umran is being stopped. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an experienced bowler. India could have rested him along with other senior players. They could have tried Umran. Who is different from other bowlers. He bowls fast and he appears in a different colour. He further said, ‘There are people in both the countries who like to discuss in vain.’

Salman Butt further said that any fast bowler who bowls at a speed of 150 kmph, then it is exciting for him. Umran is as exciting as anyone who can throw the ball at a speed of over 150. According to Butt, let Umran play first, then you can compare him with top cricketers. I don’t think such comparison should be done at this level.
