Pan masala ad became the reason

New Delhi. Former Indian team cricketer Gautam Gambhir has taken a dig at former captain Sunil Gavaskar and veteran opener Virender Sehwag. Actually, recently both these cricketers had worked in a pan masala ad. The same thing has happened to Gambhir. According to Gambhir, people know you according to your work. That’s why no such work should be done.

Gambhir has criticized that earning money should not be our only goal. There are other ways to make money. It is not necessary that pan masala should be promoted only.

The former cricketer said during a special conversation with Network 18, ‘I have two words, disgusting and disappointing. Disgusting because I never thought a player would advertise pan masala in his life.

He said, ‘Disappointing because I say only one thing that choose your role model wisely. Work matters more than name. You are known according to your work. Not according to the name.

Gambhir further said, ‘Money is not that important that you have to work for paan masala. There are many ways to make money. You are a role model for the youth of the country. That’s why you should have the courage to turn down such offers.

He also gave an example of the country’s former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar during this period. He said that Sachin once told that, ‘He was offered Rs 20-30 crore, but he told his father that he would never promote tobacco or pan masala. That’s why today he is a role model among the youth.
