New Delhi: The T20 World Cup is going to start from October 17 in UAE and Oman. Sunil Gavaskar has expressed concern about Hardik Pandya and said that the biggest concern for the Indian team is Hardik Pandya not bowling. If Hardik Pandya does not bowl then it can prove to be a big blow for India.
Hardik Pandya needs to bowl
Sunil Gavaskar has said that Hardik Pandya has been selected as an all-rounder in the team, in such a situation his not bowling is nothing less than a setback for India. If you are an all-rounder and you are not bowling, it creates a lot of trouble for the captain. The captain is not left with options which should be left with him. In such a situation, the balance of the team can get disturbed.
Relief from Ishaan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav
Mumbai Indians batsman Ishan Kishan made his comeback in the match against Rajasthan by scoring 50 runs in 25 balls. However, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav have disappointed everyone in this IPL season. Gavaskar said, ‘The return of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar is a good sign for India.’
Pandya had surgery 2 years ago
Hardik Pandya had back surgery two years ago, after which he has been rarely seen bowling. Pandya bowled a few overs against Sri Lanka. Hardik has not bowled even once for Mumbai Indians in this IPL season. However, the selectors said on Hardik Pandya’s selection that he is fully fit and ready to bowl.
